Building Automation Systems Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for all customers as needed

Enhance the department by accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value

Reviews and approves engineering design documentation for projects

Communicates effectively with customers

Reviews budgets for projects

Makes determinations for equipment and communicates those decisions to the owners as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum 5 plus years in BAS

BACnet and/or LON Control Systems, Tridium NIAGARA AX/NIAGARA N4/Distech Ec-Net preferred

Working knowledge of HVAC systems

Must have good troubleshooting skills for determining HVAC mechanical vs control issues

General understanding of IP networks

Must have excellent communication skills

Must be able to read and understand blueprints

Must pass a background check and drug screening

Knowledge of:

Heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air-conditioning control strategies

Applicable equipment and related tools

HVAC, alarm, and security computer applications

Construction practices and principles applicable to automated building systems

Design, installation, compatability and connectivity of automated building systems

Problem resolution techniques and methods for the trade

Safety rules and protocol for safe equipment operation and personnel protection

Skills and abilities to:

Maintain and configure the provided software, and a demonstrated ability to program networked hardware
