Why "Builder"?

The best people on our team start with a business problem, figure out what should exist to solve it, and then build it, often end-to-end. They talk to stakeholders, sketch out solutions, make product and design decisions, write the code, and ship it. They use AI tools not as a novelty but as a core part of how they work. The line between "product thinking" and "engineering" isn't one they spend much time drawing.

We call this role Builder because that's what it actually is. You'll work in small pods with a GM who sets direction, but how you get there and what you build along the way is largely up to you.

About the Role

To drive our mission forward, this role will:

• Start with the problem, not the ticket. Understand the business context behind what you're building. Know why it matters to customers, to the business, and to the team.

• Own outcomes, not just output. Take features from idea to production. That means participating in product and design decisions, not waiting for a spec to land in your lap.

• Build across the full stack. Write clean, maintainable code across frontend, backend, and infrastructure with a focus on reliability, performance, and simplicity.

• Use AI as a force multiplier. Leverage AI-powered tools to move faster, explore solutions more broadly, and spend your time on the problems that actually require human judgment.

• Improve the system, not just your code. Identify opportunities to make the platform better, the team faster, and the product sharper. Bring ideas, not just implementations.

• Collaborate with high context. Work closely with your pod, leadership, and cross-functional partners. Share what you know, ask what you don't.

About You

You're a problem solver who happens to write code, not the other way around. You care about what gets built as much as how it gets built. You're comfortable with ambiguity, energized by ownership, and sharp enough to develop a working understanding of the business you're building for.

Your experience:

• 2-5+ years of experience in full-stack software development with a track record of shipping real-world applications

• Background in CS/EE, a coding bootcamp, or equivalent hands-on experience building production systems

• Proficiency across Frontend (TypeScript, JavaScript, React), Backend (Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs), and Infrastructure (relational databases, Git, AWS)

• Demonstrated fluency with AI-powered development tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot, etc.) — not just awareness, but active use in your workflow

• Ability to think beyond code: you consider the user, the business case, and the tradeoffs, not just the implementation

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset — you ask good questions, give direct feedback, and make the people around you better

• DevOps experience is a plus — understanding how your code runs in production matters here

• Excited to work in-person or hybrid from our downtown Austin office
