Context And Mission
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is seeking a BSC AIF Digital Marketing Officer to join the Project Dissemination Unit within the framework of the BSC AI Factory (BSC AIF) initiative.
The BSC AIF is a major European project aimed at accelerating the adoption and development of artificial intelligence across industry sectors. It deploys a comprehensive set of AI-focused services, including training, networking, and innovation support structures. Its mission is to foster the uptake and effective use of AI (particularly among SMEs and startups across participating countries) and to strengthen the European innovation ecosystem. These services are powered by the AI-specific partition of the MareNostrum 5 supercomputer, one of the most advanced computing infrastructures in Europe, designed to meet evolving AI needs by harnessing the latest AI-oriented technologies.
The BSC AI Factory Event Officer is responsible for designing and delivering the BSC AI Factory’s communication strategy and coordinating all BSC AI Factory related events. The role supports external communication while ensuring alignment with the BSC AI Factory’s brand and objectives.
Key Duties
Develop, implement, and update the overall event strategy included within the Marketing and Communication Strategy (D8.1)
Plan, organise, and execute BSC AI Factory events such as conferences, exhibitions, workshops, demos, hackathon series and stakeholder gatherings
Handle event logistics: venue management, supplier coordination, registration systems, catering, onsite support, and technical needs
Create event materials such as agendas, invitations, speaker briefings, and promotional assets by ensuring consistent visual identity in event materials
Prepare and monitor event evaluation questionnaires to collect feedback, assess impact, and identify areas of improvement
Organization of the hackathon series in collaboration with the sectorial hubs for the engagement of potential BSC AI Factory customers
Organization of the startup networking events in collaboration with the BSC AI Factory Space Manager
Track event engagement, compile analytics, and contribute to communication/event performance report
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Master’s degree in Marketing, Digital Communication, Innovation Management, or EU Project Management is a plus
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
2–3 years of experience in a similar role related to event management, marketing, or communication, preferably within AI, innovation, or technology sectors
Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
Knowledge of Spanish and/or Catalan is an asset.

Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
Attention to detail and quality in event delivery and materials
Analytical skills to evaluate event impact and performance

Conditions
The position will be located at BSC within the Directors Department
We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
Holidays: 22 days of holidays + 6 personal days + 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
Salary: we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona

Development of the recruitment process
The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system ("Concurso-Oposición"). The recruitment process consists of two phases:
Curriculum Analysis: Evaluation of previous experience and/or scientific history, degree, training, and other professional information relevant to the position. - 40 points
Interview phase: The highest-rated candidates at the curriculum level will be invited to the interview phase, conducted by the corresponding department and Human Resources. In this phase, technical competencies, knowledge, skills, and professional experience related to the position, as well as the required personal competencies, will be evaluated. - 60 points. A minimum of 30 points out of 60 must be obtained to be eligible for the position.
The recruitment panel will be composed of at least three people, ensuring at least 25% representation of women.
In accordance with OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for each vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will begin the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. At a minimum, a personality questionnaire as well as a technical exercise will be conducted during the process.
The panel will make a final decision, and all individuals who participated in the interview phase will receive feedback with details on the acceptance or rejection of their profile.
