Summary:
The Bridge Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily field operations on bridge construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of bridge construction crews,
Interpret and execute project plans, blueprints, and specifications,
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies,
• Plan and schedule work activities, manpower, equipment, and materials,
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors,
• Monitor productivity and ensure project milestones are met,
• Conduct daily safety meetings (toolbox talks) and enforce site safety standards,
• Inspect work for quality assurance and adherence to design requirements,
• Maintain daily reports, logs, and documentation of site activities,
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively,
• May be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends,
• Additional duties as required.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in bridge construction (preferred),
Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction,
Proven experience supervising field crews on infrastructure or structural projects,
Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment,
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings,
Familiarity with DOT standards and specifications,
OSHA 30 Certification (preferred),
MD SHA MOT,
OSHA 10,
Valid driver’s license,
Excellent organization and leadership skills,
Ability to effectively communicate,
Solid problem-solving skills,
Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday,
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat, and twist, throughout the workday,
In addition, you must have the ability to be on your feet and legs for long periods of time,
Repeatedly use of hands, and arms, for an extended period,
This includes frequently walking on sloped ground and slippery and uneven surfaces,
This job requires the ability to see, with vision correction tools (glasses, contacts),
Perform essential job tasks in extreme or inclement weather, including but not limited to extreme heat, humidity, rain, storms, snow, for extended amount of time,
Exposure to hot materials, fuel, fumes, vapors, dust, grease and oils,
Constant exposure to loud noises and heavy moving equipment.
Note: This position is considered Safety-Sensitive, and therefore subject to various schedule and unscheduled screenings for controlled substances.
