Job Description
Overall Responsibility: The key purpose of this role is the operation of the manual and semi-automated brewing plant and process associated with PLC controls, to the SHP Quality & Safety standards.
Focus Area 1
Shift based production performance and processes
Operate designated plant and equipment
Monitor and record specific production processes on shift [brewing sub dept. specific]
Maintain notes regarding recipe changes and adjustment additions
Accurate follow recipes and accurately measure all stored and used grains
Ensure process quality and productivity
Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to SHP safety standards
Maintain all tools/equipment and cooperate with maintenance department on large scale maintenance performances
Co-ordinate and carry out autonomous maintenance (cleaning & lubrication)
Apply basic hygiene and sanitation and adhere to food safety related rules and activities as per factory instructions
Perform Food Safety and Quality related activities as part of the FSMS and QC functions Maintain all tools/equipment and cooperate with maintenance department on large scale maintenance performances
Maintain sanitation standards, in accordance with policies, to provide a clean and food safe work environment (CIP and 5S standards)
The application of problem solving and decision-making techniques and principles shiftily
Support the team in implementing the Manufacturing excellence program

Perform administration
Ensure the application and adherence of the administration systems and procedures
Maintain documentation of a variety of activities and inventories through computer or paper systems (Ability to maintain and evaluate records and to prepare and submit reports orally and in writing)
Perform stock takes on shiftily, daily or weekly basis

Implement Manufacturing excellence program
Carry out 5S tasks
Do Autonomous maintenance tasks as set out by the ME pillar
Take part in team and shift meetings as per Teamwork Pillar and support the visual management process
Carry out basic quality at source tasks
Take charge of the Operator office and use it as per design
Requirements of the Role
Chemical Engineering / Biological Sciences Diploma
Basic skills with computer applications, to include Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn and use new computer programs
At least 6 months experience in a production environment as an operator
Willingness to further studies and drive self-development
Reliable mode of transport for shiftwork
Preferred Skills/Competencies
Ability to multi-task
Demonstrate mathematical competency
Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instruction
Ability to work and interact with process control computers as well as personal computers
Ability to perform laboratory testing for process control
Must be willing to work alongside your team including long days, on rotating or varying shifts (days, evenings, and nights) as well as overtime, weekend, or holiday work
Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals
