Job Description
Overall Responsibility: The key purpose of this role is to ensure optimum utilization of the plant by Operating and maintaining a specific process in the plant, and the execution of maintenance and asset care activities in support of the Brewery and ensure sustainability within the business.
Focus Area 1
Operate Process according to standard operating procedure (SOP's)
Execute Daily schedules: Production and Maintenance
Owner of the performance of the assigned process area
Ensure process quality and productivity
Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Co-ordinate autonomous maintenance in process area
Adherence to basic hygiene and food safety related rules and activities as per policies
Actively participate in shift meetings, asking questions to test understanding and contributing suggestions. making use of the action logs to record issues, problems and improvement opportunities
Constantly reviewing process performance against target, and recording short stops and correcting any out of controls
Maintain all tools/equipment and cooperate with maintenance department on large scale maintenance performances
Support manufacturing excellence initiatives and routines
Focus Area 2
Shift performance
Collaborate and communicate effectively in the workplace with all teams in all departments and leadership staff
Ensure Maximum Process performance in the work area during the shift
Ensure Utilization of the Quick Fix Routes and Why Why's as and when required
Ensure SIC's are updated as per the required standard
Contribute to self and team development
Focus Area 3
Perform administration
Ensure the application and adherence to the administration systems and procedures
Maintain documentation of a variety of activities and inventories through computer or paper systems for the Process area
Perform administrative roles to ensure adherence to Process specification
Requirements of the Role
Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
A completed Trade Test - Millwright and National Diploma
Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office, with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software programs
Minimum of 1 - 3 years Production Engineering Experience in FMCG would be advantageous
Understanding of Maintenance Processes and Practices
Reliable mode of transport for shiftwork
Preferred Skills/Competencies
Ability to multi-task and carrying out autonomous operations as defined for the process areas
Must be willing to work alongside your team including long days, on rotating or varying shifts (days, evenings, and nights) as well as overtime, weekend, or holiday work
Make use of relevant communication media (e.g. shift logbook) to stay informed and inform others of issues
Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals
