Job Description
Overall Responsibility: The Brewing Analyst will be responsible for developing, configuring, and optimizing industrial processes to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and sustainability in line with business objectives. The role involves troubleshooting, continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and South African legislation.
Focus Area 1
Health & Safety
Lead and implement the SHP SHE policy
Focus Area 2
Process optimising and sustaining good Brewing Practice
Design, implement, and optimise manufacturing and production processes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Analyse process data and performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Develop process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
Support production teams with technical expertise and troubleshooting of process issues
Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using SHP problem solving and FI tools.
Ensure all processes comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards in SHP.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and R&D.
Evaluate and introduce new technologies, tools, or methods to enhance process performance.
Train and support operations staff on new processes or improvements
Focus Area 3
Development of Brewing staff
Mentor brewing operators
Provide technical coaching to brewing operators
Conduct competency assessments for brewing operators
Focus Area 4
Provide Brewing process expertise (technical depth) and facilitate problem solving processes
Lead department problem solving initiatives across all levels
Coaching of brewing staff on good brewing principles
Focus Area 5
New Product
Actively participate in the NPD process where required
Collate and communicate NPD reports
Requirements of the Role
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a process engineering role within manufacturing, FMCG, or a related industry
Proven experience in process design, optimisation, and project management
Experience working with ISO standards and South African SHEQ regulations
Preferred Skills/Competencies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Results-driven with a continuous improvement mindset
Proficiency with MS office
