Role overview

We’re looking for a Designer with strong visual taste to design and build our creative initiatives across the web and brand. You will be responsible for translating Kota’s mission, products, and design ethos into quality web pages, flows, and campaigns. For us, it’s both about how it looks and how it works. We expect a broad range of skills that allows you to define the visual language through design, motion, and storytelling while being able to prototype and build. The role will be an important addition to our team as we scale and there are several reasons to join now:

What You’ll Do

• Shape and evolve Kota’s visual identity across key brand touchpoints.

• Design and ship brand experiences across web, launches, social, campaigns, sales materials, and other marketing surfaces.

• Translate strategic ideas and messaging into clear, compelling visual systems.

• Build a consistent brand language across layout, typography, imagery, motion, and tone.

• Work closely with marketing to create assets that are effective, coherent, and on-brand.

• Collaborate with product design to ensure stronger alignment between brand expression and product experience.

• Contribute to the development of templates, guidelines, and reusable systems that make the brand easier to scale.

• Raise the overall quality bar of how Kota looks and feels across the company.

You will be joining our design team early and working with existing product designers. Together, you will form the core of our design function at Kota and be the first full-time hire that works on the Brand team.

What We’re Looking For

• A strong portfolio showing thoughtful, high-quality brand work across digital surfaces.

• Excellent visual craft across typography, composition, hierarchy, and art direction.

• Ability to build systems, not just one-off assets.

• Comfort shipping polished work using AI, no-code or low-code tools.

• Strong taste and clear point of view, with the judgement to know when to push and when to simplify.

• Attention to detail and a high bar for quality and consistency.

• Strong communication and experience collaborating across departments.

• Experience building brands in a startup environment.

• Bonus if you can kickstart motion, interactive, or narrative experiences without engineering support.
