Branch Accountant - Power Generation & Energy Solutions

Apt Resources is seeking a Branch Accountant for our client, a multinational company in the power generation and energy solutions industry, to join their team in South Africa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting financial reporting while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to coordinate with multiple departments while managing various financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, post, and process daily accounting and financial transactions including invoices, transfers, expenses, and other related entries
• Verify supporting documentation and ensure proper approvals for all accounting entries
• Assist in the preparation, development, and monitoring of the annual budget
• Manage accounts payable and receivable including invoice processing, payments, and receipt management
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies when necessary
• Monitor customer credit limits and highlight critical accounts for follow up
• Prepare bank reconciliation reports and assist with cash flow monitoring
• Manage petty cash and ensure proper approval and documentation for all disbursements
• Process employee expense reports and verify supporting documentation
• Maintain records of fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and accrued expenses
• Conduct inventory audits and maintain accurate inventory records when required
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documents and financial information
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies
• Coordinate with HR on payroll processing and related documentation

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
