Job Description

The Boomi EDI Developer is responsible for designing, building, and supporting Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integrations using the Boomi Platform. This role focuses on implementing and maintaining EDI transaction flows between internal systems (ERP, CRM, WMS, Finance) and external trading partners. The developer will work closely with integration leads and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable EDI solutions. This is a hands-on delivery role with an emphasis on mapping, partner onboarding, error handling, and production support.

Required Skills

• Hands-on development experience with the Boomi Platform

• Strong experience implementing EDI integrations

• Working knowledge of common EDI standards:

• X12 (e.g., 810, 850, 855, 856, 837)

• EDIFACT (where applicable)

• Experience with Boomi EDI components:

• Trading Partner Management

• EDI Profiles and Maps

• Document tracking and acknowledgements (997/999)

• Data mapping and transformation skills (flat file, XML, JSON, CSV)

• Experience with communication protocols:

• AS2

• SFTP

• FTP/FTPS

• Strong understanding of:

• Error handling and retries

• Logging and monitoring

• Partner-specific variations

• Ability to troubleshoot EDI failures and resolve data issues

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills

• Experience integrating EDI with:

• ERP systems (Infor)

• WMS or Supply Chain platforms

• Familiarity with:

• EDI testing and certification processes

• Partner onboarding and cutover activities

• Exposure to:

• API integrations alongside EDI

• Boomi AtomSphere or API Management Experience supporting production EDI environments

• Prior consulting or client-facing experience
