Role: Bookkeeping Specialist

Monthly Rate: $750

Availability: Part-time 20 hours/week

Time Zone: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM MT

Requirements:
Experience Needed/Responsibilities:

-Fullcycle bookkeeping, bank and account reconciliations

-Processing payables, receivables, allocations, and bill payments

-Tracking spending versus budget and preparing monthly reports

-Managing closings for land/project acquisitions and dispositions

-Handling investor fund accounting, draw requests, and disbursements

-Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis (as needed)

-Assisting in policy development, compliance, and internal control improvements

-Partnering in system building (BI dashboards, automation, process optimization)

-Coordinating with external CPAs for audit/tax prep and reporting

-Input on risk management, investor reporting, and strategic planning

Good to have:

-Experience managing closings, draw requests, and investor dollars in both acquisition and disposition contexts

-Familiarity with consolidation/reporting for multiple entities

-Ability to present actionable insights to leadership for strategic decision making

Non-negotiable Requirements:

-Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred but not required)

-3+ years bookkeeping/controller experience in real estate development, land, or property management

-Strong grasp of QuickBooks, Excel, and modern accounting tools; familiarity with BI platforms (e.g., Fathom) advantageous

-Proven ability to optimize finance systems and recommend effective process improvements

-Solid understanding of entity/itemized accounting and multientity operations

-Comfortable working remotely, independently, and as part of a small team

-Willingness to build out automation/AI capabilities over time

-MS Excel/Google Sheets
