Job Title: Bookkeeper/Accountant
Location: Remote
Role Type: Full-Time
We're looking for an Accountant to manage day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting, and compliance for our Australian client base. You'll handle 6-8 SME clients across various industries, managing monthly reconciliations, BAS preparation, payroll processing, and year-end accounts. This role involves direct client communication, preparation of management reports, financial analysis, and supporting our senior accountants with more complex tax planning and advisory work. You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate records, ensuring ATO compliance, identifying process improvements, and delivering timely financial information that helps our clients make better business decisions.
Requirements:
• 2-4+ years of practical accounting experience in an Australian practice environment
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation, BAS requirements, and superannuation regulations
• Proficiency in Xero and MYOB (experience with QuickBooks advantageous)
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client portfolios with varying complexity and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail with ability to identify discrepancies and reconciliation issues
• Experience preparing financial statements, management reports, and cashflow forecasts
• Excellent written English communication skills for client correspondence and report preparation
• Self-motivated work approach with ability to prioritise tasks across multiple clients without constant supervision
• Experience working remotely with strong organisational and time management capabilities
• Comfortable with month-end and quarter-end deadline pressure
• Proactive communicator who escalates issues early and presents solutions
