Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a skilled part-time Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial operations with accuracy and efficiency. This role focuses on core bookkeeping tasks and does not involve cash flow management, which is handled by the accountants. The ideal candidate will be experienced, proactive, and able to work independently while maintaining high standards.
The position is part-time, roughly 4 hours per day, ideally during morning hours (e.g., 9 AM – 1 PM Australian time). This role is perfect for a candidate who can quickly understand existing processes, work autonomously, and suggest improvements where relevant.
Responsibilities:
• Manage payroll, commissions, superannuation, and payroll tax.
• Process supplier invoices and payments, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
• Conduct daily bank and credit card reconciliations using Xero.
• Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS statements.
• Perform monthly account reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support sales invoicing and account for management fees, including GST allocations.
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping in line with existing processes and accounting standards.
• Suggest efficiencies and improvements to processes where applicable.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5+ years of bookkeeping experience.
• Strong experience with Xero and payroll systems.
• Knowledge of superannuation, payroll tax, work cover, and BAS/IAS lodgements.
• CPA qualification is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong English communication skills to liaise with accountants and management.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in reconciliations and reporting.
• Comfortable with part-time working hours.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to understand processes quickly and take initiative.
