HireUp Talent is partnering with Young Berman Karpf & Karpf, P.A in Fort Lauderdale, FL to identify an experienced Bookkeeper / Billing Specialist to support the firm’s financial operations.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with law firm experience who understands trust accounting, billing processes, and financial reporting within a legal environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a deadline-driven setting and brings both technical accuracy and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
Prepare accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports
Maintain and reconcile multiple accounts, including trust accounts and trust ledgers
Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of client financial reporting and general ledger structures
Manage accounting in QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online (QBO), and Accounting Creative Solutions
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end close processes
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial and non-financial data
Oversee billing processes and ensure compliance with firm and regulatory requirements
Utilize Clio Legal Software for billing and trust accounting management
Collaborate with department managers and executive leadership to support overall firm goals
Manage workflow efficiently while meeting tight deadlines
Qualifications
3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, including hands-on trust account management and trust ledger reconciliation
Prior experience within a law firm environment strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
3+ years of QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop experience required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with at least intermediate Excel skills
Experience with Clio Legal Software required
Strong financial statement preparation expertise
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
