We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Real Estate Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage financial operations for our property portfolio. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with AppFolio Property Management Software and a strong background in real estate accounting. This role involves overseeing daily bookkeeping, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate closely with property managers, owners, and vendors to maintain accurate records and support strategic financial decisions.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Utilize AppFolio to record transactions, generate reports, and maintain accurate property-level financial data.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for property owners and management.
• Reconcile bank accounts, tenant ledgers, and vendor accounts.
• Track rental income, security deposits, and property-related expenses.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and assist with year-end audits.
• Provide financial insights to support property management and investment decisions.
• Maintain organized documentation and support process improvements in accounting workflows.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 2–3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience in the real estate or property management industry.
• Proficiency in AppFolio Property Management Software is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting practices.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
