Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Boilermaker Superintendent to oversee field execution of industrial and construction projects. This role is responsible for supervising boilermaker crews, ensuring safe work practices, maintaining quality standards, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to safety and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership to boilermaker foremen and crews
Plan, coordinate, and execute boilermaker work scopes including structural steel, vessels, piping supports, and equipment installations
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and applicable codes and standards
Lead and enforce site safety programs, including hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and incident investigations
Coordinate with project management, engineering, quality control, and other trades to ensure smooth execution of work
Monitor productivity, manpower levels, and equipment usage to meet project schedules and budgets
Review drawings, specifications, and work plans to ensure accuracy and constructability
Resolve field issues, including technical challenges, crew performance, and schedule conflicts
Participate in project meetings and provide regular progress reports
Support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance management of field staff
Qualifications
Journeyperson Boilermaker certification required
Minimum 7–10 years of boilermaker experience, with supervisory or superintendent-level experience preferred
Strong knowledge of industrial construction practices, welding procedures, and quality requirements
Proven leadership and crew management skills
Excellent understanding of site safety requirements and regulatory compliance
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-based environment and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred Assets
Previous experience on industrial, oil & gas, mining, or heavy construction projects
Experience with project scheduling, productivity tracking, and cost control
Valid safety certifications (e.g., CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid)
Strong collaboration skills and a solutions-focused mindset
Work Conditions
Project-based work with potential for extended hours and rotational schedules
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to meet physical demands of site work
