Job Description
Would you like to work for one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, KBL Projects is seeking experienced, safety-minded Sulphur Remelt Boiler Operators. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum 4th class power engineer certificate and be experienced in facility operation. Heavy equipment (loader) operation is an asset. Sulphur Remelt Boiler Operators are responsible for the safe and effective operation of a boiler and steam system, as well as operation of sulphur remelt pumps, piping, filtration systems, and conveyors.
Location
Job location is the Shantz Sulphur Forming Facility near Cremona AB. Local personnel preferred however, accommodations can be provided if the successful candidates are not local to the Mountainview / Rockview counties area.
What You'll Do
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Conducting boiler operations, testing and steam system operations
Conducting daily, weekly and monthly plant checks
Performing general cleaning duties throughout the day
Operate loader and conveyor systems
Operate sulphur remelt pit pumps and piping systems
Filter changes and maintenance
Who You Are
Qualifications/Competencies
The individual in this role will have:
Minimum ABSA 4th Class Steam Ticket
A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent
A valid and acceptable Driver’s license and successful completion of pre-employment testing
Heavy equipment (loader) operation experience
Valid and current safety tickets including H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, WHIMS and TDG
A strong attention to detail, communication skills and a profound ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding work environment
Proven ability to work well under a limited amount of supervision
