Body Finisher / Parts Painter

Pride Bodies Ltd., a Wabtec Company in Cambridge, Ontario, offers custom design and truck-body manufacturing and upfitting of utility, service, construction, railway and other custom truck bodies.  Our environmentally-friendly truck bodies are researched, designed and customized to our customers’ satisfaction. 

 

Who will you be working with?

We currently have an open position of Body Finisher – Parts Painter.  As a member of the team at Pride Bodies Ltd., you will be working daily in the paint department, with the paint supervisor and paint team.

• Perform work that is accurate and finished so that your internal customers, the Assembly and service Departments, can perform their work without disruption.

 

What do we want to know about you?

• High School/GED diploma required;
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance;
• Stamina and strength to perform manual labour; eagerness to learn on the job;
• Be team focused and task oriented;

                                                                       

What will your typical day look like?

• Setting up paint booth with components/bodies to spray for the day.
• Applying coatings to components in a timely manner.
• Repairing any defects on panels and in paint work.
• Finish component/body/door prep fully, including body work and caulking.
• Understand instructions and carry them out efficiently within the given deadline;

• Apply safe automotive/manufacturing work practices and become familiar with equipment (Pressure pot system, HVLP gun, DA palm sander, caulking gun, air blower, masking tape, masking paper etc.);

• Read and understand shop drawings to enable independent work;

• Set up and maintain shop tools and equipment; learn to set up and maintain new tools and equipment as required;
• Stack parts on skids to allow easy access for the next operation and label components correctly.
• Assist in other areas of production as needed, if qualified.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.  The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception.

 

Safety glasses, steel-toed safety shoes and hearing protection must be worn for the entirety of the shift.

• Day shift - 41-hour work week, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. M-Th, 7 a.m. to Noon F;
• Wage rate - $27.39 per hour;
