Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the technical development and integration of the blockchain-based platform, with a primary focus on designing, implementing, and optimizing smart contracts for the escrow liquidity layer. The CTO will drive the technical strategy for the iGaming MVP and land-based casino pilot, delivering secure, scalable, and compliant solutions for operators, players, and regulators. This role requires deep expertise in blockchain technology, smart contract development, and decentralized finance (DeFi), paired with strategic leadership to align technology with business and regulatory objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Smart Contract Design and Integration:

• Architect, develop, and deploy secure, non-custodial smart contracts to manage escrow deposits, ensuring privacy-preserving transactions and eliminating counterparty risk.

• Design deterministic rules for deposits, withdrawals, and refunds, supporting multi-chain environments for iGaming and land-based casino operations.

• Implement per-round proofs for Verifiable Random Function (VRF) and tamper-evident logs to ensure provably fair games, compliant with GLI/BMM-certified RNG standards.

• Develop programmable bankroll and split mechanisms, enabling operators to use native tokens as collateral for DeFi liquidity pools and credit lines.

• Ensure smart contracts support automated settlements triggered by trusted or decentralized oracles for real-world events, game results, and transaction records.

• Blockchain and L2 Architecture:

• Lead the development of a Proof-of-Authority (PoA) Layer 2 with Proof-of-Stake (PoS) guarantees, anchoring to Layer 1 for final settlement.

• Oversee the integration of zero-knowledge (zk)-based solvency proofs for continuous, privacy-preserving verification of balances and liabilities for regulators, lenders, and consumers.

• Design and implement a robust oracle and data ingestion layer to securely feed real-world events (e.g., game results, settlements) into the protocol.

• Ensure permissioned node participation for iGaming operators and land-based casino pilots, maintaining compliance and auditability.

• Technical Leadership and Strategy:

• Define and execute the technical roadmap for the blockchain platform, aligning with business goals and regulatory requirements for iGaming and land-based casinos.

• Collaborate with product, operations, and compliance teams to deliver a scalable, secure, and user-friendly platform.

• Lead a team of blockchain engineers, smart contract developers, and security specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

• Evaluate and integrate emerging blockchain technologies, DeFi protocols, and cryptographic tools to enhance platform functionality and security.

• Security and Compliance:

• Ensure smart contracts and platform infrastructure are audited and certified for security, fairness, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., GLI/BMM for RNG).

• Implement tamper-evident logs and immutable, auditable records to support faster dispute resolution and regulator-grade evidence packs.

• Oversee the development of privacy-preserving mechanisms for deposits, withdrawals, and solvency verification using zero-knowledge proofs.

• Liquidity and DeFi Integration:

• Design systems to collateralize escrowed funds, enabling businesses to access operational liquidity through DeFi pools and credit lines.

• Develop token staking mechanisms for yield generation and liquidity provision, ensuring seamless integration with DeFi ecosystems.

• Collaborate with liquidity providers and lenders to establish transparent, oracle-verified business activity metrics for creditworthiness.

• Land-Based Casino Pilot:

• Lead the technical implementation of the land-based casino pilot (provisional agreement for May 2026), integrating chip and escrow reconciliation with locked servers and cloud infrastructure.

• Ensure regulator-grade evidence packs and compliance-ready solutions for floor and cloud operations, minimizing OTC friction.

Qualifications

• Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in blockchain development and smart contract design (Solidity, Rust, or equivalent).

• Proven track record of building and deploying production-grade smart contracts on Ethereum, Polygon, or other EVM-compatible chains.

• Experience with Layer 2 scaling solutions (e.g., Optimism, Arbitrum, or custom PoA/PoS systems).

• Familiarity with DeFi protocols, liquidity pools, and collateralization mechanisms.

• Prior experience in iGaming or financial services is a plus, particularly with compliance-driven systems or oracle-based data ingestion.

• Technical Skills:

• Expertise in smart contract development, security auditing, and optimization (e.g., gas efficiency, reentrancy protection).

• Deep understanding of zero-knowledge cryptography and zk-proof systems for privacy and solvency verification.

• Proficiency in oracle integration (e.g., Chainlink, custom oracles) for real-world data ingestion.

• Knowledge of VRF, RNG certification (GLI/BMM), and provably fair gaming systems.

• Experience with permissioned blockchain networks and node management.

• Familiarity with DeFi protocols, tokenomics, and staking mechanisms.

• Leadership and Soft Skills:

• Strong leadership experience, with the ability to build and manage high-performing technical teams.
