We’re expanding our team and seeking a rockstar bioinformatics scientist to help us develop new pipelines for the early diagnosis and screening of complex diseases such as cancer. quality of life.
About us
Flomics is a fast-growing biotech company founded in 2018 in Barcelona. We are developing a revolutionary liquid biopsy test for the early detection of cancer, based on the analysis of cell-free RNA in blood. By combining cutting-edge genomics with advanced bioinformatics and machine learning, we’re identifying novel biomarker signatures that can transform diagnostics. Our goal: make cancer detection simple, scalable – and possible from just a single blood sample.

You should have
A PhD degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science or related fields.
A publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
An entrepreneurial soul with a proactive and hands-on attitude.
Fluent in English and Spanish.
Your responsibilities
Perform the mining, analysis and integration of data from NGS platforms.
Deliver novel RNA biomarker signatures based on NGS using machine learning techniques.
Independently complete data analysis using R, Python, etc.
Develop software and custom scripts to automate data input, retrieval, processing, and analysis.
Manage projects and provide technical guidance to bioinformatics team members.
Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications and patents.
Your skills
You must be familiar with:
o The Linux terminal.
o The Python and R programming languages.
o Data processing and analysis.
o Genomics and Next-Generation Sequencing technologies.
o Biostatistics.
o Time management.
o Writing (in English, and with style!) scientific reports and technical documentation.
Nice to have:
o Knowledge of cloud infrastructures, in particular AWS.
o Experience with bioinformatics workflow management systems such as Nextflow.
