Position Overview
Murphy Geospatial are expanding our in-house BIM team and are looking for BIM Coordinator to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience in a similar role, or a Senior Technician looking to develop into a more Coordinator role. The successful candidate will be based primarily from our North London Watford office, with the opportunity hybrid working, and will be reporting directly to the BIM Manager.
What You Will Do
Oversee the production of accurate, detailed Revit survey models, ensuring compliance with both client requirements and internal quality benchmarks.
Mentor and support BIM Operation Manager and production teams, promoting best practices in Scan to BIM modeling and quality assurance.
Keep our Scan to BIM documentation up to date, aligning it with evolving industry standards and in-house improvements.
Work closely with the BIM Operation Manager to implement workflow enhancements, improve efficiencies, and strengthen the digital function.
Advise on the best modeling workflows for each project, collaborating with project teams, surveyors, and external suppliers.
Review and validate both graphical and non-graphical data to guarantee consistency and accuracy.
Maintain high standards for quality, deadlines, and safety across all deliverables.
Champion a culture of continuous learning in BIM, Revit, and digital surveying practices.
Improve BIM production methods to strengthen planning, forecasting, and on-time delivery.
Manage outsourcing and supply chain relationships to deliver reliable, scalable results.
Provide hands-on Revit technical support, troubleshooting issues and guiding teams toward efficient solutions.
Support business development by contributing to proposals, estimates, and technical documentation, as well as attending client meetings.
Identify opportunities for digital innovation and business growth.
What You Will Bring
Strong background in surveying, with experience in the design, construction, or AEC sectors.
Minimum 5 years using Revit for Scan to BIM projects
Minimum of 2 years’ AutoCAD experience based on point cloud data.
A fundamental understanding of building construction, the principles of ‘Survey-to-BIM’, and all relevant industry-standards such as ISO19650.
Experience in supply chain communication and project management
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Understanding of point cloud datasets and construction industry workflows.
Knowledge/experience of working with Dynamo (preferable)
Desirable extras: experience in structural/architectural disciplines, familiarity with ArchiCAD, Tekla, clash detection, visualization.
Ability to work well under pressure, with a proactive and detail-focused approach
Knowledge/experience of collaboration through BIM360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud
