Job Summary:
Scaffold Builders will erect and break down temporary scaffolding and rigging for construction projects. They must be able to work safely at great heights. This person must work onsite at construction projects within the Commercial and Industrial Sectors.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing and other duties will be assigned based on the positions role within the business unit.
Transport and unload scaffolding equipment at construction sites.
Build scaffolding and securely attach it to buildings or structures.
Lay planks and other platforms for workers to stand/walk on.
Install fall protection equipment as needed.
Hoist and lower materials onto and off scaffolding.
Work with crane operators, as needed, to properly rig material onto platforms using equipment.
Inspect work daily and perform light maintenance. Notify supervisors of damage, breakdowns, safety concerns, and other issues with equipment or work.
Use power and hand tools as needed.
Breakdown scaffolding when project is complete.
Perform all work in accordance with safety requirements and plans/drawings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Authorized to work in the United States
Previous scaffolding experience
Experience using various power/hand tools
Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from job orders, work orders, technical drawings, and other plans
Demonstrated ability to listen and follow instructions carefully and accurately
Basic math skills
Attention to detail
Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment safely and correctly
Demonstrated commitment to following safety rules
Valid driver’s license
OSHA training preferred
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to the following:
Able to work in an outdoor construction work environment with potential exposure to dust, noise, waste, toxic and infectious materials and possible inclement weather conditions.
Able to walk, sit, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, stretch, squat and climb, often in restricted spaces and at great heights for extended periods on ladders and scaffolding.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
Good dexterity and coordination
Able to wear required personal protective equipment.
Able to work safety with specialized construction equipment, tools, and materials.
Able to see, talk and hear in person and phone.
Able to lift & carry items up to approximately 50 lbs.
Able to understand and execute actions based on verbal and visual instructions.
