The Immigration Legal Assistant is a foundational, client-facing and backend role that supports case managers and attorneys in moving immigration cases forward efficiently, accurately, and compassionately. This position is both deeply educational and rewarding, offering hands-on experience across family- and humanitarian-based immigration matters.
This is a fully remote, 40 hours a week, independent contractor position in a fast-paced, collaborative, and high-performing legal environment.
Responsibilities
Timely respond to reasonable requests for information or communication by clients.
Conduct excellent research and writing.
Fill out and assemble immigration application forms and packets.
Provide legal support and aid to team members and attorneys.
Update and maintain case lists, case progress, deadlines, and milestones.
Actively engage in dialogue with attorneys and legal team regarding case processes, legal questions, and more.
Compensation
Base salary will be determined based on your experience, to include performance-based incentive pay.
Qualifications:
Effective oral and written communication in both English and Spanish.
Demonstrate high level of rhetorical (persuasive) writing and editing skills.
Analytical mindset and rigorous approach to evaluating arguments and evidence.
Flexible and able to quickly adapt to rapid changes in the workplace.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong word processing and computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with utilizing technology in your work.
Thorough attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Windows computer required
