Overview of the Role
The Benefits Associate supports the management, administration, and continuous improvement of team member compensation and benefits programs. This includes government-mandated benefits, health insurance (HMO), company-provided benefits, compensation data maintenance, position descriptions, and documentation. The role helps ensure legal compliance, data accuracy, and timely support for team member inquiries while contributing to an engaging and competitive benefits environment.
Major Responsibilities
• Process and monitor government-mandated benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG), including enrollment, amendments, loans, and claims.
• Conduct periodic audits (quarterly or semi-annual) of benefits records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
• Maintain a master tracking sheet of benefits, deadlines, submissions, and status (best practice for audit readiness).
• Monitor all DOLE, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG announcements; evaluate implications; and recommend policy updates.
• Ensure internal policies are aligned with legal requirements.
• Maintain and update HRIS for changes in salary, position, team, contract type, and benefits.
• Ensure 100% alignment of HRIS data with payroll reports.
• Conduct monthly data integrity checks as best-practice HRIS management.
• Submit all benefit-related adjustments to Payroll before cut-off, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Respond to benefits inquiries and educate team members on benefits, processes, and updates via guides, FAQs or info sessions.
• Prepare team member documents such as COEs, Team Member Action Forms and certifications.
• Maintain a secure and confidential digital copy of team member files.
• Participate in People and Culture projects to modernize People & Culture operations, digitize processes, or enhance team member experience.
• Recommend improvements to benefits programs based on data, team member feedback, and market trends.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degrees in Psychology, Human Resources Management
• With 1-2 years' experience in employee benefits, payroll, HR operations, or HRIS is preferred.
• Exposure to government-mandated benefits processing is a strong advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• High integrity and ability to handle confidential information
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work with HRIS tools (e.g., BambooHR)
• Proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets for tracking and reporting
• Enjoys interacting with different types of people
