Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to individuals with behavioral challenges, particularly those with disabilities, PTSD, and other mental health issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavior management and experience working with children in various settings, including special education environments.
Duties
Develop and implement individualized behavior management plans tailored to each client's needs.
Provide direct patient care and support to individuals with behavioral challenges.
Conduct assessments to identify behavioral issues and develop strategies for improvement.
Maintain accurate medical documentation of patient progress and interventions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, therapists, and family members, to ensure comprehensive care.
Utilize applied behavior analysis techniques to promote positive behavioral changes.
Provide training and support to staff on effective behavior management strategies.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, making adjustments as necessary.
Requirements
Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities and behavioral health challenges.
Strong knowledge of behavior management techniques and applied behavior analysis.
Experience in patient care, particularly with children or in special education settings.
Familiarity with PTSD care practices is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
Ability to document medical information accurately and maintain confidentiality.
A compassionate approach towards individuals facing behavioral challenges.
Relevant certifications or degrees in psychology, social work, special education, or related fields are preferred.
