Role Overview
The Behavior Interventionist is a key member of the Culture Team, responsible for supporting student behavior, reinforcing school-wide expectations, and helping build a positive, structured school environment. This role works closely with teachers, school leadership, and student support staff to ensure all students—especially those needing additional support—can succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support & Intervention
Provide direct behavioral support to students in classrooms and throughout the school
Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans, including IEPs and 504 accommodations
Support students in developing self-regulation, social-emotional skills, and positive habits
Assist students in reflecting on behavior and building strategies for improvement
School Culture & Systems
Reinforce school-wide behavior systems, including merits, demerits, and incentives
Support consistent implementation of routines, expectations, and consequences
Monitor and manage behavioral resets, in-school suspensions (ISS), and pull-outs
Assist with after-school detentions and behavior-related follow-up
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with teachers to problem-solve classroom behavior challenges in real time
Collaborate with the Director of Students and Student Support Services team
Communicate with families regarding student behavior and progress
Contribute to student support plans for scholars needing additional intervention
Safety & Operations
Monitor hallways, common areas, and restrooms to ensure student safety
Support arrival, dismissal, and transitions throughout the school day
Assist with school events, including family nights, conferences, and open houses
Administrative & General Duties
Maintain accurate documentation and behavior records
Support data tracking and reporting related to student behavior
Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
At least 1 year of experience working with youth (school setting preferred)
Experience supporting student behavior or school culture strongly preferred
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional extended hours
Physical Requirements
Ability to move throughout the school building and supervise students in various settings
Ability to stand, walk, and engage actively with students throughout the day
Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
Ability to operate standard office equipment and technology
