Salary: $15,000.00
JOB OVERVIEW
Volleyball BC is the provincial sport governing body that actively encourages participation and fosters the development of volleyball across British Columbia. The head office is located at the Harry Jerome Sports Centre (HJSC) in Burnaby, BC.
Volleyball BC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Beach Tour Coordinator to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the Volleyball BC Beach Tour. This seasonal role is ideal for someone passionate about beach volleyball, event operations, and sport administration. The Coordinator will work closely with VBC staff, event hosts, officials, and volunteers to ensure the successful delivery of beach volleyball tournaments across the province.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all logistical planning and on-site operations for Volleyball BC Beach Tour events
Serve as a primary point of contact for event hosts, athletes, officials, and volunteers
Support event scheduling, registration processes, and tournament administration, including Draws/Brackets
Assist with equipment coordination, site setup, and teardown as required
Ensure events are delivered in accordance with Volleyball BC budgets, policies, standards, and timelines
Support communication with participants, including pre-event information and post-event follow-up
Assist with data tracking, reporting, and event documentation
Provide on-site problem-solving and customer service during tournaments
Support other Volleyball BC beach volleyball initiatives as assigned, including Youth Beach Provincials and Youth Beach Nationals

Kits Classic: May 16-17, Vancouver
Penticton Open: May 30-31, Penticton
Jim Clive Cup: June 6-7, Vancouver
Parksville Open: June 20-21, Parksville
Kamloops Open: June 27-28, Kamloops
Vancouver Open: July 10-12, Vancouver
Adult Beach Provincials: August 8-9, Vancouver
For designated Beach Tour stops in Penticton, Parksville, and Kamloops, accommodation will be arranged and covered by Volleyball BC. Travel days are generally Fridays, with return travel occasionally scheduled for the Monday following the event, where necessary. However, a Sunday return is preferred.
Qualifications & Skills
Post-secondary education or experience in sport management, event coordination, recreation, or a related field
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Expectation is to work weekends and extended hours during event days
A valid class 5 Driver's license issued in British Columbia is required, along with the ability to drive cargo style van to various locations throughout BC
Travel within British Columbia is required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online registration systems (Sportlomo)
Completion and maintenance of a clear Criminal Record Check required
Experience with volleyball (especially beach volleyball) is a requirement
Ability to lift and carry equipment ranging in weight (typically 50 lbs.)
First-Aid and CPR training is an asset.
Working Conditions
Seasonal fixed-term contract position (5 months)
Weekly hours approximately 30 hours - hybrid model with both in-office and at-home hours
This position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate tournament schedules.
Direct exposure to all outdoor elements for extended periods of time: sun, wind, rain, heat, and dust/sand;
Travel within British Columbia is required.
Compensation
The compensation range for this role is $15,000.00, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is a temporary, fixed-term contract position.
