Barista - Brunch Restaurant

Brewed - Fort Worth is the Star Telegram's Reader's Choice "Fort Worth's Best Brunch Spot" for 2022. Brewed opened it's doors in 2012 and pride's itself on it's mission to connect and invest in each other and our community by valuing, serving, and inspiring through our atmosphere and hand-crafted food and beverage. Brewed is not just a brunch restaurant, but we also feature a full craft coffee bar with coffee beans that we roast in-house ourselves, and we event rent out our space for private events like weddings, corporate parties, and other celebrations.

 

We are searching for an engaging, courteous barista to join our team who is passionate about food and beverage preparation and education. The barista will greet customers as they enter the restaurant, answer their questions, take orders and accept payments, and prepare and serve food and drinks. You will also maintain a clean and well-stocked workspace and dining area, update displays, and continuously expand your knowledge of food and beverage quality controls, preparation methods, and presentation. You will also be expected to help answer the phone and ring in takeout orders when no host is present, or if the host is unavailable.

To succeed as a barista, you should be committed to providing customers with excellent service. You should be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite.

The hourly rate for this position is $12.00/hr + an automatic tip out percentage based on net sales from servers and bartenders. The estimated average pay including tip out is approximately $20-$25/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.
• Grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.
• Packaging food and beverages for sale.
• Selling coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, highlighting the differences between items, and educating customers about brewing methods.
• Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
• Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.
• Updating signage and displays to attract customers.
• Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.
• Working as part of a fun, high-energy team.
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.
• Helping create new drink recipes
• Preparing and batching syrups and other ingredients used to make different drinks
• Assisting with inventory and inventory management for the barista station
• Dialing in and calibrating the bean grinders and espresso machine and maintaining espresso quality control

Requirements:

• Can create latte art in coffee beverages
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred.
• Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation.
• Exceptional listening and communication skills.
• Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• A polite, engaging personality.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
• Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.
• Can carry heavy objects up to 50lbs without assistance
• Maintain current Food Handler's and TABC certifications
