Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3 -6 months plus
Hourly Rate: Up to £22 ph umbrella (or its PAYE equivalent)
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time
Job Overview
Pulse is currently seeking an experienced and proactive Band 5 Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician (preferably with ACT) to join the pharmacy team at an NHS Hospital in London, a community rehabilitation facility in West London. The hospital operates a satellite dispensary supporting both inpatient and community services, offering a dynamic and varied working environment. This role is ideal for a confident technician with strong NHS hospital experience who can hit the ground running in a busy and collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform medicines reconciliation on admission.
• Order and prepare discharge medication to support timely patient flow.
• Supply medication efficiently, ensuring safe and accurate processes.
• Support dispensary operations, including accuracy checking duties.
• Work on the wards to deliver high‑quality medicines management services.
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimise medicines use.
• Support medicines management audits at external sites across Ealing and Hounslow (car use beneficial).
• Use electronic prescribing systems including JAC and Microsoft applications; knowledge of SystmOne is advantageous.
Qualifications and Experience
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Accredited Medicines Management Technician (MMT) qualification (essential).
• ACT accreditation preferred
• Previous NHS hospital experience (essential).
• Strong understanding of dispensary processes and ward‑based medicines management.
• Confident using electronic prescribing systems (JAC essential).
• Diligent, adaptable, and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
