Costa Navarino is seeking a Baker Commis Chef to join our team. The selected candidate will be responsible for adhering to hygiene protocols and brand standards at all times. They will possess a thorough knowledge of the menu and ingredients, ensuring they can quickly identify and inform supervisors of any discrepancies or damage.

The candidate will complete their tasks within established quality standards and timeframes, maintaining a clean and organized work area and refrigeration units. A key part of this role is to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the highest quality and safety standards, contributing to the delivery of exceptional culinary experiences for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness and proper operation of equipment and workspaces before production begins, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Participate in the mixing, filling, and baking of breads and pastries in batches.

• Follow kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards.

• Communicate daily with colleagues and supervisors to maintain open and clear communication.

• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and within deadlines.

• Contribute to additional duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef or other management team members.

• Ensure full compliance with Food Safety standards – HACCP / DIVERSEY or other applicable regulations.

Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Bakery, or Pastry from a recognized institution (preferred).

• At least 2 years of experience in a high-quality environment, such as a luxury restaurant, hotel, or cruise ship, with exposure to various catering styles like à la carte and buffet.

• Knowledge of high standards in the production, preparation, and presentation of bakery products.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality and presentation.
• Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Good command of English; knowledge of Greek or other languages is an asset.
