Background Investigator - Jena Band of Choctaw Indians Gaming Commission
Supervisor: Gaming Commission Chairman
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Tribal Gaming Commission, the Background Investigator is responsible for Investigating, Fingerprinting, and Reporting all Gaming License applicant findings to the Jena Band of Choctaw Gaming Commissioners. The Background Investigator must attend all License Hearings and present his/ her background investigation findings, along with a recommendation to issue, or deny, the applicants Non-Key, Key, PMO Employee Gaming License. The Investigator will be responsible for adhering to all NIGC regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Process background checks to identify an applicant’s licensing suitability, in compliance with the Jena Band of Choctaw Gaming Ordinance.
• Must conduct application screening, ID badge creation, computer data entry and processing gaming license application(s) and annual employee license renewals.
• Must conduct application screening, ID badge creation, computer data entry and processing Vendor license application(s) and annual Vendor license renewals.
• Must attend any and all background investigation trainings.
• Must complete training required under Criminal Justice Information Services Security Policy (CJISSECPOL) Awareness Training and Internal Policies & Procedures. Must complete any training(s) required thereafter.
• Must adhere to strict rules of Confidentiality (Zero-Tolerance for Breaching Confidentiality).
• Work as the secondary Local Agency Security Officer (LASO).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• No criminal record.
• Must be able to travel for trainings and conferences.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
• Casino and/or investigator experience, preferred.
• Must have a consistent work history.
TRIBAL PREFERNCE POLICY:
Members of the Jena Band of Choctaw Indians shall be given absolute preference with respect to hiring, promotions, training, contracting, and separation from employment. For persons who meet the minimum qualifications, preferential treatment shall be based on the following criteria and shall be given in the following order:
• Enrolled member of the Jena Band of Choctaw Indians who satisfy the minimum job qualifications
• Spouses of enrolled members of the Jena Band of Choctaw Indians who satisfy the minimum job qualifications
• Enrolled members of other recognized tribes who satisfy the minimum job qualifications
• Military Veterans
• All other who satisfy the minimum job qualifications
