We are seeking a proactive Backend Developer who has successfully developed and launched core features independently using technologies such as Node.js, Python, Go, or similar, along with SQL databases. This position requires you to take full responsibility for the entire delivery process, from comprehending business requirements to deploying and sustaining reliable backend services.
Requirements:
Responsibilities
Manage features from start to finish: gathering requirements, conceptual design, coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
Engage in developing intricate functionalities rather than limiting yourself to minor bug fixes or aesthetic adjustments.
Create efficient SQL schemas, write optimized queries, and uphold data integrity.
Work closely with frontend and product teams to deliver comprehensive user-facing features.
Involve yourself in code reviews to enhance code quality and uphold high engineering standards.
Diagnose production issues and spearhead root-cause resolution while maintaining a holistic perspective of the system.
Must-Have Skills & Profile
2-4 years of experience as a backend developer.
Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, and SQL (MySQL or a similar RDBMS)—SQL expertise is essential.
A demonstrable history of independently building and managing features or modules in production systems.
A solid understanding of web fundamentals, including HTTP, REST APIs, authentication, and the request-response lifecycle.
Experience with Linux-based environments and Git/GitHub workflows.
An understanding of how your module integrates into the broader product architecture and aligns with business objectives.
Bonus / Brownie Points
Substantial open-source contributions (GitHub links), particularly in web/backend projects.
Participation in GSoC, hackathons, Codeforces/competitive programming, or similar initiatives.
Internships at reputable product/tech firms where you had real feature ownership.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and basic DevOps knowledge.
What We Do Not Want
Profiles primarily focused on ML/AI or candidates whose main experience lies in data science/ML pipelines.
Candidates whose expertise is restricted to minor bug fixes, CSS modifications, or minor refactors with no substantial feature ownership.
