Want to shape the future of customer engagement and growth? At Wolt, we’re looking for talented and driven Software Engineers to join our growing Engagement group, which includes teams working on AdTech, Promotions, and Wolt+. You’ll work with Kotlin, PostgreSQL, Kafka, AWS, and Kubernetes, with some Python in select areas, to build scalable, in-house solutions that enhance how users interact with Wolt. Our teams own their platforms end-to-end, ensuring we deliver seamless and high-impact experiences.

Our humble expectations

• Experience in JVM-based languages (Kotlin, Java, Scala) is a plus

• Background in backend development, with a solid understanding of modern architectures and best practices.

• Experience breaking down projects into feature-level work, identifying dependencies, and providing estimates.

• A problem-solver who enjoys tackling technical challenges and continuously improving solutions.

• A team player who values collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and working with business stakeholders.

• Fluency in English language

You’ve built and shipped software—maybe a product, a service, or a tool used by real users. You’re comfortable working with microservices, API-driven architectures, and modern backend technologies. You take initiative, asking the right questions to ensure you're building the right solutions, and you care about clean, maintainable code that performs well in production.

You balance ownership and collaboration, knowing when to take charge of a project and when to work closely with your teammates. You bring ideas to the table and welcome feedback, always striving for the best technical and business outcomes. Whether you’re looking to deepen your expertise or expand your scope, you thrive in an environment where learning and impact go hand in hand. You understand that engineering excellence goes beyond development—you actively monitor quality, improve observability, and ensure that systems remain scalable and maintainable

🌍 Where You’ll Work

These roles is based in Helsinki. While we operate in a remote-friendly environment to foster collaboration and innovation, the candidate must be based in Finland. We are open to consider candidates from other locations if they are willing to relocate to Finland. Wolt provides relocation support. We are not able to offer remote contract from another country.

The compensation will be a negotiable combination of monthly pay and DoorDash RSUs. The latter makes it exceptionally easy to be excited about our company growing and doing well, as you’ll own a piece of the pie.
