About the Role

Pragmatike is hiring on behalf of a fast-scaling technology company building backend-heavy systems that power complex data workflows and automation at scale. The platform relies on reliable APIs, structured data storage, and intelligent extraction pipelines to support business-critical operations.

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to own core services, data models, and integrations as the platform continues to scale. This is a hands-on role focused on building robust, maintainable backend systems with real-world impact.

What You’ll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services using Python and Node.js

• Build and optimize APIs and internal services

• Own data architecture and persistence using PostgreSQL and MongoDB

• Develop and maintain scraping and data ingestion pipelines

• Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of backend systems

• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product, and operations

• Use AI-assisted development tools to increase velocity and code quality

• Debug production issues and improve system robustness over time

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in Backend Engineering

• Strong experience with Python and/or Node.js

• Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

• Experience building APIs and backend services in production

• Familiarity with scraping, automation, or data-heavy systems

• Comfortable working independently with high ownership

• Strong communication skills and startup mindset

Bonus Points

• French fluency or professional working proficiency

• Experience with OCR, computer vision, or document processing

• Exposure to AI-powered tooling or ML-adjacent systems

• Previous startup or scale-up experience
