Backend Engineer - Java

• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services using Java and Spring Boot. 
• Build and maintain REST APIs to integrate with internal and external systems. 
• Work with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) for schema design, queries, and performance optimization. 
• Implement robust logging, error handling, and monitoring practices. 
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile development ceremonies. 
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver reliable fixes. 
• Collaborate using GitHub for version control and CI/CD integration. 
• Contribute to improving development productivity using tools like GitHub Copilot. 

Mandatory Skills 

• Strong understanding of Core Java (Collections, Streams, Multithreading, Exception Handling). 
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and REST API design/development. 
• Solid knowledge of data structures and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles. 
• Experience with SQL and database fundamentals. 
• Proficiency with JSON structures, parsing, and validation. 
• Familiarity with logging frameworks (e.g., SLF4J, Logback) and debugging tools. 
• Working experience with Git/GitHub for version control and collaboration. 
• Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code. 
• Exposure to microservices architecture and inter-service communication. 
• Knowledge of Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP). 
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito). 

 

Good-to-Have Skills 

• Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes). 
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. 
• Understanding of API security and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT). 
• Experience using GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted coding tools.
