Backend Developer – Shopify & E-Commerce (PHP/Symfony) (m/f/d)

We are searching for YOU!:
We run a multi-market e-commerce platform across 5 European countries, spanning online and POS. Behind it sits a stack of backend systems that handle everything from product data pipelines and order processing to multi-currency gpricing  and inventory sync. Therefore, we are searching for a backend developer (m/f/d) as soon as possible for our headquarter in Munich who can own these systems — and is ready to work on the Shopify storefront with Liquid.

These are your tasks with us::
• Backend services in PHP/Symfony following DDD principles

• Integrations with Shopify GraphQL API (products, orders, inventory, translations)

• Event-driven architectures with RabbitMQ, AWS SQS (queues, consumers, retry/DLQ handling)

• Shopify custom app development (extending platform capabilities)

• Storefront customization using Shopify Liquid templating

• Multi-market e-commerce across 5 European markets (multi-currency, multilingual)

• Collaborating with product, operations, and BI teams to translate business needs into technical solutions

Your Profile::
• 4+ years of backend development experience

• Strong skills in PHP and Symfony (or similar frameworks)

• Comfortable working with APIs, queues, and PostgreSQL

• Able to do frontend work in Liquid/HTML/CSS/JS — this isn't a React/Vue stack: it's server-rendered templating

• Experience with or genuine interest in Shopify development (APIs, Liquid, app ecosystem)

• Active use of (or strong desire to adopt) AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, Copilot, or similar — we integrate AI into our daily workflow

• Familiarity with Docker, AWS services, and structured logging/observability is a plus
