Role Description
The Back Office–Payments Operations will support the day-to-day operations of the payments and funding department. The role focuses on processing and monitoring client deposits and withdrawals, payment investigations, transaction monitoring, and fraud prevention while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Process and monitor client deposits and withdrawals across multiple payment providers and banking channels.
Investigate and resolve payment escalations, failed transactions, and funding discrepancies.
Monitor payment activity to identify suspicious transactions, unusual patterns, or potential fraud risks.
Perform transaction monitoring in line with AML and compliance requirements.
Obtain and review supporting documentation for KYC and due diligence checks when required.
Liaise with payment providers, banks, and internal teams to resolve funding-related issues.
Support internal teams with payment troubleshooting and operational queries.
Maintain accurate records of payment investigations, monitoring activities, and operational reports.
Ensure internal compliance documentation related to payments and funding operations is properly maintained and updated. Assist in improving payment workflows, operational efficiency, and system performance.
Research and evaluate new payment providers and solutions for different regions.
Qualifications
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Portuguese or Spanish is an advantage.
1–2 years of experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or brokerage operations.
Experience in payments operations, transaction monitoring, AML compliance, or fraud detection is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to analyse transaction data and identify irregular patterns.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills when working with internal teams and external payment partners.
Requirements
Office-based role.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 13:00 – 22:00.
Fluent English required.
Portuguese or Spanish is considered a plus.
