Azure Delivery Solution Architect (Technical)

Overview

The Azure Delivery Solution Architect is a senior, client-facing technical leader responsible for designing and guiding AI-enabled, Azure-native solutions for complex enterprise initiatives. This role focuses on applying Microsoft cloud and AI capabilities to real business problems, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and operationally sound.

The architect partners with Sales and Delivery teams from presales through execution, translating business objectives into pragmatic, implementable architectures while maintaining architectural integrity throughout delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Azure-Native Architecture

• Define end-to-end solution architectures built on Microsoft Azure, emphasizing cloud-native design principles
• Make architectural decisions across identity, security, networking, platform services, data access, resiliency, and cost governance
• Ensure solutions are designed for scalability, reliability, observability, and long-term maintainability
• Establish architecture standards, patterns, and guardrails aligned to Microsoft and Hitachi Solutions best practices

AI & Intelligent Solutions

• Lead the design and implementation of AI-enabled solutions using Microsoft technologies
• Apply AI capabilities such as:• Azure AI services and platform capabilities
• Copilot-enabled and intelligent application scenarios
• Data-driven insights, automation, and decision support

• Partner with clients to identify high-value AI use cases and translate them into deliverable architectures
• Ensure AI solutions meet enterprise expectations for security, compliance, governance, and responsible use

Software Engineering Alignment

• Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams to ensure solutions are buildable, testable, and operable
• Define application architecture patterns (service boundaries, APIs, integration approaches) appropriate for Azure-native solutions
• Ensure alignment with modern delivery practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and DevSecOps
• Review designs and implementations to ensure engineering quality aligns with architectural intent

Presales & Client Engagement

• Partner with Sales to drive solution design during pursuits, including discovery, architecture definition, and estimation
• Contribute to proposals, statements of work, and executive-level presentations
• Clearly communicate architectural trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to client IT leadership and executives
• Act as a trusted advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle

Delivery Enablement & Governance

• Partner with Delivery teams to ensure architectural vision defined in presales is carried through execution
• Provide ongoing architectural oversight and decision support during delivery
• Identify architectural risks early and drive mitigation strategies
• Support customer satisfaction through clear, proactive communication across teams

 

• 15+ years of experience in solution architecture, cloud architecture, or senior technical leadership roles.
• Consulting or professional services background
• Experience working within architecture governance or design authority models
• Deep experience designing Azure-native solutions for enterprise environments
• Proven experience delivering AI-enabled solutions with Microsoft technology
• Ability to bridge business goals and technical execution
• Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills

.NET 8+ / C# - Azure Functions isolated worker model, async patterns, advanced generics

Azure PaaS - Cosmos DB partitioning & consistency, Service Bus topics/DLQ, Functions hosting plans, Key Vault, AD B2C

Clean Architecture - Layer separation, dependency direction, composition roots

SOLID Principles - Interface-driven DI, single-responsibility assessment, open/closed patterns

Domain-Driven Design - Aggregates, bounded contexts, domain services, anti-corruption layers

Event-Driven Architecture - Async messaging, idempotency, retry and dead-letter strategies

Azure Well-Architected Framework - Five-pillar trade-off analysis, security-first prioritization

CI/CD & DevOps - Pipeline design, code coverage enforcement, artifact management
