PRN - Saturday and Sunday, 7am-11am
 
Overview 
Under the direct supervision of anatomic pathology management, performs duties of receiving and releasing deceased patients in the morgue and assists pathologists in the performance of autopsies. 
Key Responsibilities 
•  Ensures that all state and regulatory requirements are met related to the handling and disposition of the deceased. 
•  Verifies correctness of the death certificate and autopsy consent.   
• Releases bodies to the appropriate facility and maintains daily records. 
• Assists pathologists in the performance of post-mortem examinations, to include evisceration and restoration of the body.   
• Maintains the autopsy suite and morgue area in compliance with safety and regulatory agency    requirements. 
Minimum Qualifications 
Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. 
Experience: Six months of morgue assistant experience is preferred.  Knowledge of basic autopsy procedures, basic dissection and human anatomy is preferred; ability to learn advanced autopsy procedures, dissection and human anatomy is required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $21.92 - $31.59
