Automotive Service Technician: Responsibilities
Perform work as specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
Test-drive vehicles and inspect components using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, and more
Communicate with Service Advisors to keep customers informed about additional service needs and provide time estimates for further repairs
Complete repairs under warranty according to manufacturer specifications
Automotive Service Technician: Qualifications
Previous experience at an automotive dealership is preferred
Strong understanding of the service drive and customer service
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
Basic computer literacy
Positive, friendly attitude with a customer-first mindset
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as part of a team
Willingness to learn new technologies, procedures, and specifications
Experience with electronic diagnostic equipment
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug screen and background check
