As part of Vision Zero, the Automated Enforcement Unit oversees violation issuance for red light, speed, mobile speed, fixed bus lane, mobile (MTA) bus lane, and Weigh-in-Motion enforcement. The Unit is seeking to hire three capable, confident, and dedicated Management Auditor Trainee who will report to the Auditing Supervisor.
The Management Auditor Trainees will support internal audits by conducting detailed reviews, verifications, and ongoing monitoring of the work performed by Automated Enforcement vendors. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that all events captured by the 2,700+ enforcement cameras are accurately transmitted to NYCDOT for review and processing.
NYCDOT receives more than 35,000 events per day. These events are reviewed by NYCDOT processors, who determine whether to approve or reject them. Approved events become violations issued to the registered vehicle owners, along with the associated fines. Rejected events must be examined to confirm that the vendor has provided complete and appropriate information explaining the rejection.
The successful candidates will review photographs and videos captured by enforcement cameras citywide and determine whether the contractor’s rejection decisions were appropriate or if the events should have been forwarded to NYCDOT as violations.
