Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Auto Body Prepper to join our team. This full-time position reports directly to the shop foreman and operates Monday through Friday. We offer great benefits and a supportive work environment.

Experience and Skills:

Minimum 2 years’ experience as an auto body prepper.

Strong attention to detail and exceptional quality craftsmanship.

Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications:

Successfully completed an industry-recognized Paint and/or Prep Course.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, coachable, and open to continuous learning and development.

Valid AB Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.

Duties:

Fix minor body damage.

Prepare vehicles and/or components for the painting process.

Apply paper and masking tape to protect unpainted surfaces such as bumpers, windows, chrome trim, and other parts while surrounding areas are painted.

Smooth/sand unmasked surfaces with sandpaper, removing gloss from previous coats of paint and rough spots.

After the vehicle is painted, remove masking tape and clean the vehicle.

Move the vehicle to the designated area for buffing/detailing.

Assist the painter with general shop practices.

Monitor and act on general maintenance, cleaning of the shop, and equipment.

Move vehicles as required by the production process.

Familiarity with Axalta Paint products is considered an asset.
