Auto Body Technician Apprentice

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Auto Body Technician Apprentice to join our collision repair team at McCarthy Chevrolet- Lee's Summit. This entry-level role is perfect for someone looking to start a career in auto body repair and learn from highly experienced technicians. The apprentice will assist with daily repair tasks and develop the skills needed to perform high-quality bodywork, refinishing, and vehicle restoration.

Key Responsibilities

Assist body technicians with vehicle disassembly and reassembly.

Prepare vehicles for repair by removing parts, cleaning surfaces, and organizing components.

Support technicians in repairing dents, panels, bumpers, and structural components.

Learn and follow proper sanding, masking, and painting preparation techniques.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Operate tools and equipment under supervision, including sanders, welders, and spray equipment.

Document work performed and follow repair procedures as instructed.

Follow all safety guidelines and shop protocols.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Interest in automotive repair, restoration, or collision work.

Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
