We’re looking for a skilled AU Accountant to join The Event Mill, working under the broader Expo Centric group. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards, and providing clear, actionable financial insights to support business decision-making, all within a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative events environment.
The Event Mill is a Perth-based events business specialising in event hire, event management, furniture hire, styling, and venue solutions across Western Australia. You’ll be supporting a business that helps bring weddings, corporate events, community events, and high-impact experiences to life, while operating within the systems, standards, and support of Expo Centric.

🔍 What You’ll Do
As our AU Accountant, you’ll manage and support the full spectrum of accounting and financial processes for The Event Mill, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong financial governance under the Expo Centric group.
Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including maintaining ledgers and financial records
Accurately record and categorise financial transactions in Xero
Process accounts payable and receivable, including supplier invoices and customer billing
Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on payments
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, general ledger accounts, and multi-currency accounts
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Prepare financial statements and summaries for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with Australian financial legislation and internal policies
Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Support internal and external audit processes through documentation and assistance
Present financial insights and reports to management when required
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across financial systems and reporting processes
Support finance processes across event hire, event management, supplier payments, customer billing, and project-related financial tracking
✅ What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
CA or CPA qualification, highly regarded
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Australian accounting or finance role
Strong proficiency in Xero, essential
Experience with payment platforms such as Stripe and managing multi-currency accounts, highly regarded
Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel
Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time-management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Clear communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team
Experience in events, hospitality, hire, venues, or project-based businesses, highly regarded
