At-Home Direct Support Person

CCAR Industries is searching for TWO full-time direct support personnel (DSP). Each position would be assigned to  provide support to one  program participant to assure that the individual is happy, healthy, and enjoying the meaningful day of their choice. The staff person will support the individual while the person engages in the activities of their choosing throughout the day, including van rides, visiting community attractions, shopping, attending therapy or medical appointments, or simply relaxing at home. In addition, the staff person will work as part of the individual's planning team to assure that personal objectives and needs are met.

SCHEDULE

Both are permanent, full-time (40 hrs/week), daytime positions on Monday - Friday with evenings, weekends, and major holidays off. One position is 7 am - 3 pm. The other is 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have a valid driver's license

Must be at least 18 years old

Must pass a criminal background check, as required by the Healthcare Worker Background Check Act (225 ILCS 46), and a DCFS Child Abuse and Neglect background check

Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a direct support role is strongly preferred, but related experience will be considered 

Must be able to work independently or as a team

Demonstrate timeliness and accuracy in documentation, as well as a compassion to support the individuals who we serve 

WAGES

This position starts at $17.25/hour with a $0.50/hour increase after DSP and departmental training is completed. An additional $0.25/hour increase is given when the person completes medication administration training.

PAY SCHEDULE

Staff are paid every two weeks with a direct deposit option available upon request
