About the Role
The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County is seeking a strategic, results-driven, and relationship-focused Associate Vice President, Major Gifts to elevate our culture of philanthropy and deepen engagement with our most generous supporters. This is more than a fundraising role; it’s a unique opportunity to shape the future of Jewish life by connecting passionate donors with meaningful, lasting impact.

As a key member of the Development Team, the AVP will serve as a frontline fundraiser responsible for stewarding and expanding a portfolio of current and prospective major donors, with a strong emphasis on acquiring new gifts of $10,000 and above. The ideal candidate is a persuasive communicator and relationship builder with a deep passion for Jewish life and community, and a proven track record of identifying, cultivating, and closing significant gifts.

This position plays a critical role in advancing the Federation’s Annual Campaign and other philanthropic priorities by strengthening donor relationships, expanding the major gifts pipeline, and helping to grow a dynamic, values-driven culture of philanthropy within the community.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Portfolio Management

• Manage and grow a portfolio of high-capacity donors, with a strong focus on identifying and acquiring new major gifts of $10,000 or above.

• Conduct face-to-face solicitations and deliver personalized stewardship that strengthens relationships and increases philanthropic support across multiple campaigns.

Strategic Growth & Pipeline Development

• Partner with development leadership to implement data-informed strategies that build a robust pipeline of future major donors.

• Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure high-quality donor experiences and maximize overall philanthropic outcomes.

Events & Donor Engagement

• Help design and actively participate in high-impact events, meetings, and missions that bring donors closer to the Federation’s mission and demonstrate community impact.

Collaboration & Reporting

• Work alongside lay leaders, volunteers, and professional staff to leverage community networks and deepen donor relationships.

• Maintain detailed donor records in the CRM system and regularly report on key fundraising metrics, including retention, upgrades, and new donor acquisition.

• A bachelor’s degree.

• 7+ years of nonprofit fundraising or relationship management experience, with a strong emphasis on major gifts.

• A proven track record of securing gifts of $10,000+.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build authentic relationships.

• A deep passion for Jewish values, community, and philanthropy.

• Experience using donor management systems such as Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce.

• A self-motivated, organized approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
