We are currently searching for a Hands-on Associate/Senior Associate Lead Network and Security Engineer to join our high-performing product and fulfillment center of excellence in Pune,India. As a Lead Network and Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support, resolving complex issues, and maintaining the stability and security of our customers' environments. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with strong technical skills and meticulous attention to detail. This person will be intellectually curious with a relentless desire to learn the latest modern data architecture platforms and patterns.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Possess expertise in AWS/Azure networking, including VPC, subnets, VPN, static and BGP routing, and administer firewalls and routers effectively.

• Provide Level 2/3 technical support and break/fix resolution for customer environments.

• Collaborate with a team to maintain AWS environments, CDP Public Cloud applications, and other applications, ensuring smooth operations and resolving complex issues.

• Demonstrate a basic understanding of virtual machines, disks, Linux maintenance, security architecture, Kerberos, and authentication issues, as well as cloud products and environments.

• Utilize scripting skills, such as bash, python, terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and API/REST scripting, to automate tasks (a plus).

• Work on escalations from the Level 1 support team (CDP, Linux, AWS).

• Participate in L1 NOC coverage during India business day on rotation, which includes afternoon and evening hours overlapping with the USA business day.

• Provide support coverage during India business day on rotation, primarily handling escalations from the L1 India NOC team.

• Work with Platform Engineering application team to design, enhance, and build solutions dealing with open-source data products in a fast-paced environment

• Configure Datadog and develop integrations to monitor and alert operations team.

• Maintain, patch, and upgrade existing Data products, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to Nexus Cyber Security best practices.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including administration runbooks and knowledge base articles, to support operational excellence and knowledge sharing.

• Lead/Mentor less experiences members of platform engineering and support teams

• Work in an agile team and participate in an on-call rotation, providing expert-level support and troubleshooting for critical issues.

• Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to improve the data platform and drive innovation.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in network and cloud engineering.

• Proficiency in AWS/Azure networking and network/ firewall/router technologies (Palo Alto experience is a plus).

• Familiarity with virtualization technologies, Linux maintenance, security architecture, and cloud environments.

• Scripting skills in bash, python, terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and API/REST scripting are a plus.

• Proven ability to build and support solutions across major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), leveraging cloud-native tools and open source for optimal performance.

• Experience integrating Azure Active Directory with FreeIPA and other directory services such as LDAP, enhancing security and user management.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues efficiently.

• Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.

• Experience with support ticket systems and adherence to SLAs.

• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and on-call rotations.
