Position Overview

Four Inc. is seeking an Associate Solutions Architect Intern to support technical and operational initiatives across the organization. This internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to solution architecture, cloud and infrastructure concepts, and customer-focused technical work.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule, with three in-office days per week at Four Inc.’s headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, and two remote workdays.

Essential Functions

Participate in a structured training and mentorship program to develop foundational knowledge in cloud, infrastructure, and solution architecture

Learn how to evaluate customer or internal technical requirements and assist in shaping appropriate solution approaches

Provide support during solution design discussions and customer-facing engagements

Contribute to a hands-on technical project, applying architectural concepts and industry best practices

Develop written and verbal communication skills by presenting technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences

Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field

Experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, JavaScript)

Foundational knowledge of IT systems, software development, or infrastructure and architecture concepts

Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines

Attention to detail and willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies in a fast-moving environment

Exposure to networking, security, storage, databases, or operating systems through coursework, labs, internships, or personal projects

Experience with technical projects, internships, or lab environments is a plus

Physical Requirements:

The work is generally sedentary and performed in an office or remote setting; however, some travel to government or partner sites may be required. The position may require:

Visual acuity to view computer screens, read technical documents, and perform data analysis and data entry

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods

Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment

Occasional lifting or carrying of equipment, boxes, or documents (typically under 40 lbs)

Ability to hear and speak clearly in virtual and in-person meetings
