This role supports the synthesis, purification, and analysis of oligonucleotides using established laboratory methods and instrumentation. The individual will work collaboratively within a chemistry team to ensure high‑quality experimental output while maintaining accurate documentation and laboratory standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Synthesis:
Assist in the synthesis of oligonucleotides using automated synthesizers. Prepare reagents accurately, follow established protocols, and ensure proper reaction conditions are maintained throughout synthesis runs.
• Purification:
Perform oligonucleotide purification using techniques such as Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography (FPLC) and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Monitor purification processes and assess results to ensure product quality and yield.
• Analysis:
Conduct analytical testing to confirm the quality and identity of synthesized oligonucleotides using LC‑MS and other applicable methods.
• Documentation:
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records of experiments, procedures, and results in accordance with company policies and applicable regulatory or quality standards.
• Laboratory Maintenance:
Support routine laboratory maintenance, including proper handling and upkeep of equipment, organization of workspaces, and adherence to safety and cleanliness requirements.
• Collaboration:
Work closely with senior chemists and cross‑functional team members to support ongoing projects, meet timelines, and contribute to overall team objectives.
Minimum Required Qualifications
• B.S. in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical/biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field with Preferred Qualifications
• Hands on experience in solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis is a plus.
• Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks (ELN).
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
The position is Full Time, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Boston, MA, are encouraged to apply
