Summary: The Associate Scientist II, Analytical Development (Protein-Based Assays) supports the development and optimization of protein-based assays for AAV gene therapy products. This position is responsible for the execution of complex protein-based assays, contributing to method development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality and consistency of our AAV gene therapy products. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the critical analytical aspects of gene therapy development. Responsibilities:
· Lead the execution of complex protein-based assays independently and troubleshoot technical issues.
· Develop and optimize protein-based assays, including assay design, protocol development, and validation.
· Collaborate with scientists to analyze and interpret experimental data.
· Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members.
· Contribute to assay transfer activities between teams or sites.
· Participate in project planning and ensure timely delivery of results.
· Assist in the preparation of regulatory documents and support regulatory submissions.
· Stay current with industry trends and incorporate best practices into assay development.
· Implement quality control measures to ensure the reliability and robustness of assays.
· Actively engage in continuous improvement efforts for processes and methodologies. Qualifications:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, biochemistry, molecular biology).
· Proficiency in advanced laboratory techniques related to protein-based assays.
· Experience with assay development and optimization.
· Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and recommend solutions.
· Strong data analysis skills and the ability to generate actionable insights from experimental results. Physical Requirements: This position works in both a laboratory environment and typical office environment where the physical work demands will vary depending on the specific tasks and duties required of the job. The employee will be stationary (standing/sitting) for extended periods of time. Employees regularly wear personal protective equipment based on the task being performed. Must be able to work in a confined space, such as a clean room or laboratory environment. Ability to identify small details within the field of vision, distinguish between different colors, and accurately identify objects within a specific area.
